Yep you need to use free classifieds available to you. People like things free so they go to free services / sites to advertise their stuff. You do the same too - it makes sense. I suggest you use free ones here:

Do one thing, submit your site into social sites. Such as digg, sphinn and stumbleupon. Submit sites in social bookmarking sites. etc…

SEO optimization should be your goal! Still the main source of traffic to site are the search engines. Mainly from Google, followed by MSN and Yahoo. You must optimize your site for the search engines. This includes off/site links and on/site tactics.
Another way to attract targeted visitors is to offer a free product or service. You can use free brandable reports that visitors can download and use. These reports and ebooks have links back to your sites. And if visitors want to share that with their friends give them widgets like Tell afriend, so that they can share it and bring more traffic.

Submit your blog to Directories to increase visibilty for your blog. Submit to as many blogs as possible.
