Many search engines have a page where you can submit your page for indexing.
Aside from that, the other ways to improve your ranking is to have other sites link to your page.

You can go to and look for “How to Suggest a Site” at the bottom left of the page.
But I think you’ll find that without sending money you’ll get your websight at the bottom of thier list. All of the search engines are that way.

Increasing hits on your website will come the higher up the search engines you appear for your keywords.
Search engines will index your site by following links from other sites to yours.

1) Submit your URL to major search engines.

2) Add meta tags..i.e. keywords describing your website in meta tags.
Create Error-free and static HTML as far as possible
3) add more incoming links to your website from other websites.
4)Share your website links with similar sites.
5) Do have a sitemap.
6)Prefer static html wherever possible.
7) One tip, which is less known that make a lot of pages like your index or default page and have hidden links to them all over your website
9) Submit your site to good directories like Yahoo, DMOZ.org, zeal.com
10) Write a blog for your site
11) Make a robots.txt file and put it in the root , containing name of all the searchable web pages i your website.
