are you putting valid http meta tages in your pages so they come up in search results? how about advertising by posting ads around town about the site/services you provide.

you simply pay about 250-300 dollars and you webpage appears in every search result( yahoo, google…) in the first 10…
or you can play with META tags, if you familliar with html, of course

Put in on as many search engines as possible and make it easy to find with ‘keywords’.
Also post the link everywhere you post on the internet, and in other websites if they allow you.
Send e-mails
And finally if you can, spend a little money on advertising online, and give away cards to people out in the street with your website.
If you do all those, watch the meter go crazy.

Advertise.
print out flyers and leave some at your local library :p my space today is the big thing now aday everyone advertise there now even the movies and all . create ur my space leave links there. i use to create and leave banners on those type of site as part of my page. so anyone who visited my page visited the link. and finally create a ad for google. it costs but then its good caz it wil create traffic and will pay you back when reaches high visitors. you need patience though. when you create website in future and you know when you’re launching it you should try advertising in advance and building ppl interest in waiting for it to check out the day it launches…
Dont spam on forums but as your signature in you email accounts, and forums you could post a link. even in yahoo msngr status
that helps alot. i have advertise alot for my brother’s websites. and created great amount of visitors and even wid google he gets paid.

Geo-targeted pay per click advertising is one of the best ways to get good local traffic. It can be expensive but can provide a good return on investment when properly managed.
Google’s platform for this is fairly good. Yahoo’s was abysmal and they finally agreed with us and have dumped the old platform and are moving to something new which should work much better for local advertising. We have quite a few local campaigns which we will be trying on the new Yahoo platform to see if it works better. Time will tell.
Another way to do local traffic generation can be through finding local directories and local publications that have web sites and provide free or paid listing. We use several in the Phoenix area, as well as local options in various cities and states around the US.
Press releases regarding newsworthy information about your site and company can be distributed to local media and to the publications above and that may generate some free publicity.
Another choice would be to hire a professional company which can build a campaign which includes Internet and local traditional marketing. Changes to the site will probably be required to make it search engine friendly and it needs to have lots of useful, worthwhile, meaningful and interesting content.
Searching for “marketing firms” on Yahoo can provide some potential choices in that area. Be sure to select a company which follows best practices and search engine guidelines as well as a full service company who can help you will all of your marketing needs. If you have multiple marketing companies working at cross purposes you will end up wasting a lot of money.
