1. Spamming URLs (weblink to your blog) (poor way of advertising but the biggest place to dig into. They are tedious compares to surf for traffic.).
Web Rings are throughout the internet that allow free sharing of URLs.
2. Pay per Click (Expensive way of advertisement)
3. Having relationship with the webmaster (Maybe)
4. Surf for traffic engine (Free but tedious by following their system of earning free traffic. They only make money on people who pays for the traffic.)

YES: Blogs are like any other business, you need to advertise, the most important things about your blog and who you wish to communicate with is the audience that you wish to reach.
